A few words about me
Anthony Bourdain says that "Obsession is the natural foe of mediocrity." If that is true, than my life is anything but mediocre.
My name is Jodi Fritch a/k/a tampawinewoman, and I am obsessed. I am obsessed with great wine, beautiful food, and the amazing way that it brings even complete strangers together.
I first caught the wine bug about 8 years ago, when I wondered into a boutique wine shop here in Tampa Bay. I spent several years working at the wine store, getting to know my customers and their palates and developing my wine knowledge.
From there I moved on to become the wine director at a local fine dining restaurant. Although I have always been fascinated with entertaining and throwing all types of parties, the restaurant gave me a completely new environment to explore my fascination with food and wine pairing. I met with diners every evening to recommend just the right wine to match their dinner selections. One that paired perfectly and still reflected their personal taste. This was truly a dream job for me. When the restaurant changed owners, I decided that it was time to venture out on my own.
